I've got a friend who needs more ankle support that low-cuts will provide. I'm strictly a trail runner guy so I can't advise him as well as I'd like. Can anyone make some good recommendations on mid-cut boots? Requirements: Breathable, quick to dry, no GTX or W/B liners, as much synthetic materials as possible. Basically, he's looking for mid-cut trail runners. He's tried a pair of Montrail Namache but Montrail's narrow profile doesn't work for him.

Vasque Breeze Low.
Never had a pair but tried one on and it fit just right. Comes in a wide too.
Tell your friend to go to a pediotrist or orthopedist (spelling?). Having high cut boots might not be the best answer.
