I purchased a SnugPak bivy online (got an incredible deal) and received it last night. I was excited because it packs down so small and weighs less than 12oz. But… It is incredibly narrow. "Snug" does not even begin to describe it. I'm not a huge, burly guy and I cannot move my arms when in the bivy. Are British soldiers all tiny little things?

Anyone else have a similar experience? Is mine a fluke?

Maybe return it and get the Montbell 2 layer goretex bivy cover Wide/Long. Room for two and Im happy with it. I own 5 Snugpacks of 3 different models, and they are all 220cm long, and most have expansion baffles. It would be a darn shame if they did not design their bivvi (as they call it) sack to fit all their bags..

I worked with a former tunnel rat about 10 years ago. His story was one day on patrol, during an ambush, every single member of his squad was wounded, except him. He used to crawl down tunnels too narrow to turn around, with a .45 and a GI anglehead.
He is now a wiry old bast@#rd who liked to crank up the radio, but change all the lyrics to dirty rhymes.. hilarious.
