Year round in a 2500ci?

2500ci would be a bit small for me in winter for a week… but your experience might differ. If your Eureka is working for you, and your only concern is volume, then I would load up the pack with what you think will be your largest volume load. If it works, you are home free. If everything doesn't fit, you might want to consider if a stuff sack lashed to the outside would be a way to carry the overflow. Most likely this would only be needed for a few days, at which point your food would have compacted enough for everything to fit inside your pack.

I am very happy with the pack so far. but I was worried about a 5 day trip in Jan, but I also am in the southeast, so temps don't really get super low… my main goal is weight reduction and that pack is only 1.95lbs. I was looking at the kelty redwing 3100. I think it may serve me better as a year round pack. or maybe the Golite JAM² PACK

The best way to overcome your worries is to pack it and find out. Throw in the stuff that you need for your typical winter trip and then see how many days' worth of food, etc. you can cram in. Mystery solved.

Yeah I did that last night and I was able to get everything on/in. but I started to look like a salvation army store. I think I am going to upgrade to the Golite Jam2 Large…3300 and that should solve my woe's and also get everything nice and packed up.

I have a Jam, and it's one of my favorite packs. If you get it you'll be saving a few ounces over what you now have. You can buy the original Jam for about half the price of the Jam II at Prolite.com. The main difference is that the Jam II has curved shoulder straps. Does anyone know if that makes a huge difference?
