Just picked up the Cutter Rain Jacket because it was $15. It is made of thermoplastic polyurethane which I'd never heard of up until buying this. It feels fairly fragile (like a wind shirt) but for $15 I'm happy so far, especially when it weighs in at 129g!

Does anyone know any tech specs about thermoplastic polyurethane, particularly the fabrics waterproofness and breathability?

I did my own test of letting a pool of water sit on the fabric for 30 minutes. The fabric did not wet through at all. I haven't used it outside yet though.

I don't own it but it is likely 100% waterproof with zero breathability (like most plastics). It is also likely that any stiching in the plastic is has not been tapped or sealed to prevent water from leaking through the stiching.

Yep there has been no seam sealing but it actually seems to breath decent. I'll have to test that this weekend.
