with winter fast approaching I'm looking for some winter tights for trail running. I've got a pair of Patagonia speedwork tights and a pair of 3/4 length MH powerstretch tights and both are comfortable to ~ the low to the mid 20's if there is no wind, add wind and it starts to get chilly.

Last winter I wore R1 "pants" (they are closer to tights) and while warmer, the wind would rip through them as well. My wife has an old pair of Patagonia tights that I'm sure are long since gone out of their lineup; but they are heavier weight, but still a very tight weave which help repel the wind.

Try New Balance NBx Windblocker tights if they still make them. Too warm for running in most temperatures.

Salamon makes some windstopper running tights. You might want to look into the tights by golite as well.

thanks gents- the golite rogue and the thermal wind pant both look like possibilities

Wind briefs will extend the comfort of more breathable legwear quite a bit.

I have a pair of Hind Artic Drylete tights that I have used for many years that have held up great.

Also, I like Sport Hill's products. I have a pair of their 3SP tights that I use for the coldest days.

Dave- I bought wind briefs last winter and you are correct- they definitely help a bunch! I thought a certain portion of my anatomy had frozen solid a couple of times before purchasing the wind briefs :)

Raquel- thanks the 3SP's look like they might fit the bill as well, I'm definitely looking for something for the coldest weather, below 20 degrees- probably to 0, if it's below 0 I'll probably just go to the club and get on the stairmaster :)
