two different versions of NeoAir XLite – What’s the story?

I thought all these were made in the USA?

The X-Lites I have seen have been more translucent. The original Neo-Airs were opaque. Maybe they've switched (back?)?

Are they the same length and shape? Is one the Xtherm or womens(very faint swirly pattern)?

I ordered a womens Xlite and got a 'regular' that was packaged in 'womens' packaging, so don't trust what the packaging says it is.

A 15g weight difference seems well withing thier range, mine was off by something like that too.

Not sure on the reason for the differences, but the blue dot is just an internal quality control measure; it means the pad was inspected and passed before it left the factory. Our NeoAirs have the same blue dot.

Same sizes. 22" x 78" max width and length, completely un-inflated. No faint swirly patterns. I'm not surprised by minor weight differences, and don't care where it's made. But if one of them is more durable than the other, I'd rather have two of the more durable versions if I have that option.

That is certainly something. Have you contacted Cascade Designs yet? They are normally pretty responsive.

Perhaps this is their answer to all the "my reflecive layer is flaking off!".

I purchased a xlite from Campmor that was marked down as an irregular. It had a blue dot and was opaque.

I spoke with the Cascade Design rep. He said the 2013 model XLite is opaque, and that I appear to have gotten one of the new versions. He was a bit surprised and didn't think the new model would be in the retail channel yet. According to his information, 2012 and 2013 are the same except for the color – i.e. no change to make it more reliable.
