Picked up several of these in a 2nd hand store the other day. Added it to my first aid kit for tick removal? sliver removal?
Those 4 little bumps near the pointy end keep the tips from moving sideways when closed under pressure.
There are serrations on about the last 1/2 inch of the pointy ends and the device is flexible enough so you can get a good grip on small things by squeezing. I can, for example, easily pick up a thin cat hair and hold it tightly enough for it to break when pulled. The forceps weighs 3 grams on my scale (weighed without cat hair).
