Do they come with removable shell so that the booties can be worn inside the sleeping bag and put on the shell when stepping out of the tent.

I have both the Flash and Expedition booties. Neither has a removable shell. However, given the right conditions I won't hesitate to wear them inside my sleeping bag. Just make sure I kick off any snow and ice as I come in from the outside.
Thanks Stuart. I think I will go with some other brand may be Sierra Designs or Feathered friends.
Take at look at Ben Smiths offering at Gooses Feet gear, he makes very nice down socks with Silnylon/Cordura outer booties.
+1 on the Goose Feet with the separate booties!
I looked into Goosefeet Booties and the shell, it looks very flimsy compared to WM or FF booties, can someone tell me if they are durable.
Also for someone with cold hands and feet issues even at 45-50F, what is the approximate temperature range this booties can be used to keep the foot warm.
I have been using mine for a couple of years and have never been cold using them down to 0f, the outer shells are very durable but you would need to be careful with the inners.
I haven't purchased any booties yet. I thinking about splitting my requirements into two different usages.
1. For inside the sleeping bag/tent = Down Booties is there any alternative to down even if it means tad higher weight (Woolen socks?)
2. Synthetic fill booties for around the camp use, in PNW the snow is not very dry so I fear the risk of wetting out Down booties (I have made up my mind to go with FF) they say the shell is Highly water resistant but will it hold up our PNW weather.
Do you guys see any merit in my thoughts? or should I just go buy the FF and call it. $90+$13 for shipping is a lot of money and I want to spend it wisely.
+1 on GooseFeet and the overboots. Can't speak to the PNW, but I have the coldest feet imaginable and the down boots with 25% overfill are a godsend. My feet actually hurt once the temps start dropping into the 40s, regardless of what socks or shoes I'm wearing. I was skeptical about the down booties (a friend has the FF ones) because they did look so flimsy. But I was walking around camp in the low 20s one morning a few weeks ago with the warmest, most comfortable feet I've ever had.
You slide around a bit too much in the overbooties for my taste, but I'm not sure how you can avoid that no matter what the configuration (the nylon is just slippery and the overboots are big to allow for the down to fluff).
I couldn't be happier having shelled out the cash. Well worth the expense.
Another plus one on the GooseFeet Down Socks and Overbooties. They are great, and I am very happy with them. Very glad I shelled out the $$ as I feel that they are very worth it…
Sinked $100 and got ff booties, just felt its has better features compared to goosefeet . 2oz down, non skid material under the bottom of the socks and also it covers few inches over the ankle.
I'm sure you'll love them. I liked being able to custom the booties a bit from Ben, but that's a minor detail. I'm actually wearing mine in my house today…
Love love love them!!
