I generally wear zero drop shoes and have been doing so for 6 years now. I feel much more comfortable from day to day walking without any heel rise. My knees and back used to give me a lot of trouble but then I made the switch to "barefoot" shoes and WALLAH… nor more pain or discomfort.
I'm interested in knowing if anyone else has backpacked with Zero drop/barefoot shoes? To name a few: Altra Adams, Vibram Fivefingers, NB Minimus MT00, Vivo Barefoot.
I'm in the sub 20lb range when fully packed for most of my trips. Should there be some heel rise when carrying a load? At this point, I typically backpack in Merrell Refuge Air Core Mids but do day hikes and trail running in the others.
Any input is welcome.
Thanks,
Dan
