It's getting to the time of year to think about Microspikes. I refuse to carry them loose in my pack although they could lighten things by making holes and cutting down air resistance. For the last two years I have used a hard plastic Rubbermaid container, squarish, like a too-big sandwich carrier. It's the 5.2 cup/1.3qt./1.2l container and holds my XL spikes with little room to spare. It cost all of $1.99 plus tax. Still, I chafe at the rigidity and space consumption. The container weighs 3.3 oz./094 g. Anyone out there have a truly nifty carrying system that won't punch holes in packs, down jackets, wind gear, etc.? Thanks for sharing.
