While I did like Ryan Jordan's article on tarping, it really did not answer any questions I had. Since I am in an area that is always below the timber line I have to worry about bugs and other fauna more than rain. It seems this would suggest a beg net tent of some time to be paired with a tarp. I am suggesting a bug net tent rather than a bug bivy because the tent can be used in much warmer temps and will stay off the person to provide the protection needed.
From what I have seen to use a bug net tent and a tarp, the tarp pretty much has to be set up as an A frame. Are there other ways to do this?
