I recently picked this lantern up for $20 to replace a Black Diamond Orbit my girlfriend broke. I know it is a bit of a luxury, but I do like to have a lantern in my tent and around the campsite. At only 120 grams it is not that heavy.
It is much brighter than the Orbit, but I prefer how the Orbit dims rather than the Clarus's 3 different predefined brightness modes. Additionally when collapsed it can be used as a pretty decent flashlight. The only real con for me is that the top hanging ring is a solid D-ring rather than a split one making hanging more difficult.
Overall I think it is a better option than the Orbit being brighter, slightly lighter, and can be used as a flashlight.
