Polartec Powerstretch Pro Wind Resistance

Compared to standard Fleece(200), it is highly wind resistant. Compared to various forms of the new denser faced fleece, it is not. It is far lighter and warmer than the new dense faced fleece that are called things like Wind shield, etc.

Personally I think power stretch is perfect. It is not as durable as either of the other two mentioned fleeces though.

If wind is that big of a problem, throw on another layer or rain jacket.

I have used normal Powerstretch and really like it, I would obviously would wear a wind proof over it.

Have you used Powerstretch Pro fabric in the field?

Unless it is super windy you won't need the wind proof over it. Unless you are going with the no sweat policy of course. If this is your mantra on a hike, then 100/200/300 fleece + wind jacket/shell is warmer for same weight than power stretch.

I wear power stretch because it has just the "right" amount of wind resistance and warmth for when I go hiking and don't mind if I sweat as I will switch out clothes at the other end. It breathes fairly well, dries quickly, and has a bit of heat retention.

PS. Durability between PS Pro and normal. I haven't worn the pro long enough to know how durable it is compared to PS.
