I have had two of them but with the exception of one night, have always used them on top of some type of air mat for a little boost in comfort. On the one night I used one alone, I was exhausted…and it was a warmer June night…and it was 6 yrs ago.
My question then is, for those that have used them, how warm are they alone compared to other pads of the same or similar thickness? I ask as because they're inexpensive and available to me within a few blocks…and I'd like to experiemnt. I'd simply experiment with mine but they're cut up to odd lengths.
For those that haven't used them and are curious, my 20"x60" version weighs 8.24 oz. Cush factor is not quite as good as the old Mt Wash egg crate pads or the Ridgerest. The foam doesn't have as good of memory retention either so after ~10 or so nights, they lose some thickness and cushion.
