The Murmur is listed as one size with the same dimensions as the Kumo, which comes in M or L. So my question is, is the Murmur closer to the M or the L size Kumo?

I own a large Kumo. Since the pack bag size is the same, I am guessing that the Kumo sizing is based on the shoulder strap attachment point. Since the Murmur fits the whole range, my guess would be closer to a large. My thought is that the location of the thin waist belt on the Murmur needs a less precise location than the thicker one of the Kumo. Less weight capacity too. This is all an educated guess. Best idea is to contact GG, which I'm sure you already thought of doing.
