I did get two more leads however, Ben at Goosefeet said he can make one (2 oz 900) weighing in at ~ 4 oz, also Luke at Luke'sultralight said he can make one as well, roughly same specs

The vest is $109.99, and it quoted at a mere 4.4 ounces. Fill weight isn't listed, but I'd guess 1.5-2 ounces based on the materials used.

when the stoic down cardigan (800 or 850 fill and weighing about 7 oz – I can't remember exact numbers) was on sale at backcountry.com for 56 bucks I bought a couple and am going to turn one into a pullover type vest. it should weigh 5-6 ounces once I cut the arms off.

^ that's a pretty good idea- are you going to salvage the sleeves and try and rig them up as a possible stand alone?

btw Luke got back to me and his vest has 1.8 oz of 900 fill

I hadn't decided what I'm going to do with the sleeves yet. There is a fair bit of down in them so I was trying to think of uses for it – I was thinking of just sewing the shoulder end of the sleeve shut and turning them into super light down socks to wear while sleeping.

it is 850 fill and 6.something oz. not bad for 65 bucks and free shipping

considering my sewing skills will make it an interesting project, I might be better off just buying a vest and keeping the sweater as a second to loan out..

your skills must be at least a little better than mine, I wouldn't even entertain the thought :)
