Does anyone know if Gossamer Gear plans to make The One any more or is it dead?

TIA!

Have you contacted GG Customer Service? My experience is that they are most responsive.

I know there is a continuing problem obtaining the spinnaker fabric this shelter is made of. I believe that GG is now the only firm still using it.

Thanks Mary. Bummer on the fabric supply. Isn't spinnaker what they do or used to make sails for boats out of..the precursor to cuben fiber sails? Came across some info about The One recently and was actually quite impressed with it. Not sure how it would hold up in heavy wind, but for a guy that wants to go tarp, yet needs tick protection…looks like the next closest thing at a very reasonable weight.

I have a 2009 version. Spent the night on Maine's Mt Spaulding in about 35-40 mph winds and rain. Slept warm, dry and cozy. I haven't used it since though since I converted to hammocks. I have considered selling it but just hate to let it go, it's such a nice piece of gear. It is in like new condition.

We have not given up on The One. In fact I recently used a prototype on a short hike on the CDT. We are working on some minor tweaks to the design, increasing effective interior space and making setup easier. We are still working on fabrics, it may be offered in two different fabrics. We can't really answer more questions than that at this point. We have no timetable for re-introduction, there are a lot of moving parts to put together. Best way to stay informed is to follow Gossamer Gear on Twitter, check in on the Facebook page now and then, and subscribe to the newsletter. Thanks for your continued interest!

That's good news. I've been using one of the last ones you guys made and I love it. I've got a few hiking buddies interested in aquiring one. It's a great one person tent design. Would love to see it offered in Cuben Fibre.

Love mine. Been hanging onto it even though I have an even lighter shelter too.

Am grateful having bought one on gear swap forum, in new condition couple months ago. Just got 10 nights use in the CA Sierra's, set up fairly easy, as long as you use of 6 stakes two 8"s(or 9s)for front and back..
