I'm going to see if I can drop some weight because I bought a multiuse poncho tarp (sea to summit cordura 11.9 oz).

I would like something that will give me splash protection and full bug protection.

Also let me know if I can put the bivy directly on the ground or If I need a groundsheet.

Looking around I found Borahbivys, I am considering getting this bivy in M90. I am a restless sidesleeper with an Exped synmat ul7 inflatable.

I am 6 foot 150 pounds, should I get the wide or long?

i'm selling a borah cuben bivy with M50 top for $110 (new $180) — great condition weighs 4.5 oz with a cuben stuff sack. PM or email me (tobysalz at gmail dot com) if interested.

I'm getting the Cuben one above, I hope this is not against the rules of bpl as I am not a member right now.

Time will tell if the M50 top will be breathable enough. And do I need a groundsheet under the Cuben bivy? I'm trying to save weight but I don't want it to wear out…….

Just a super minimal polycro groundsheet wouldn't be a terrible idea, but it's not strictly necessary. The real trick is just to not try and sleep on top of anything that will poke any holes. Even then, cuben won't really wear out, and it's very, very easy to patch and repair.

You should fit in the standard size without any problem. I'm 6'1", 190lbs and I'm swimming in the large/wide (which I like, to be honest).

I'm about to put an m50 Borah through its paces for a week. Done ok so far on condensation on a couple of weekends Anyone have recent thoughts on 50 vs 90?

Thanks guys, and yes I think I will try and find some polycro to use under my tarp.

The bivy Im getting is .74oz cuben with M50 top w/ mesh window bivyff it looks like this:

The weight is going to be about 4.5oz.

Im planning on using my sea to summit poncho tarp in conjunction.

A floor might be a good idea, to set my pack on something besides dirt would be nice.
