ive read that the guy selling the golite shoes on ebay is selling fakes. i emailed him and essentially asked if they were fakes and if they were not how he could sell them at this price and said that i needed reassuring. here is his response

They are real. I found a GOLDMINE these are 1st run limited editions that GoLite make for Team Travel and Discovery channel and others in the outdoor industry to try and for expo's. I just bought them from a shoe store that buys bulk leftover or discontinued merchandise that was going out of business I had never heard of them. I just bought a pair for myself then thought I would snap a pic and try them on ebay them I got slammed with people wanting to buy them so I went and bought all the store had for 19.99 each and decided to sell them for 33.00 and they have been going like hotcakes BUT I just found out from a guy who bought some a few days ago how much they are really worth so tonight at midnight they go up to 55.00 but yes they are REAL GOLITES

has anyone bought and recieved any yet or know about the authenticity of this story? still hard to imagine him selling them at this price. any info appreciated.

Considering these shoes probably cost the OEM a few bucks to make in China, and the rest is markup, I find it easy to believe the first batch was liquidated. Some of you might remember the Teva eVENT jackets which were sold new for $50. MSRP was supposed to be $295. I sold mine on ebay for $100. Went in a day. I should have bought all I could at the lower price. I believe this guy found a similar deal and is rightly cashing in on it. Buy a few; you can sell them later when this one of a kind deal is gone.

Only thing I would be wary of…..the person's English is pretty lousy in the email. Buyer beware. Have you emailed Golite by any chance?

The guy just got lucky. His story is logical. I have seen the shoes in the store and his look like pre-production models just like he says. No put tabs, no size labels on the shoe tongue. The poor guy didn't even know that the GoLite shoes were not Unisex until a little while ago. I sent him an email an asked about a size 11 and he sent back asking me to measure my foot. I sent back and told him to take one of the insoles out and look on the bottom of it. The GoLite insoles have M or W and the size on them. He sent back a big "thank you". He now knows what sizes he has and if they are for M or W. To bad for me he has none that will fit me.

He is living the American dream and is getting his 15 minutes of glory and I hope he sells them all.

GoLite and Timber Rot a great combination.
