This isn't about any deals, but rather a mention of a local shop here in Portland carrying great stuff. I was in Mountain Shop today and walked past Six Moon Designs packs + tents, HMG packs and cuben stuff sacks, CiloGear packs, Trail Designs Caldera stoves, Feathered Friends bags, and more like Granite Gear, Integral Designs, and more. It's really nice having a place to actually SEE and touch cottage UL gear. Between this & Next Adventure, we in Portland are extremely lucky to get to browse some excellent UL gear.

Note: I have NO connection to this shop other than as a customer, just a plug for a decent local shop (with an online shop, too).

Those stores you mentioned sound nice. We have a store in santa cruz like that called down works. They also carry some hard to find stuff: western mountaineering bags, ula packs, hard to find shoes, caldera cone….It is reaaly nice to pick something up and touch it. Plus they are so helpful.

We discovered a simular shop during our Sonora Pass to Donner Pass PCT hike, located in South Lake Tahoe, Ca. They even have a "Hikers Lounge" and give/take Trail Angel referals. It's called the "Lake Of The Sky Outfitters". They are the best.
