brutal honesty ;)

Please read the description carefully before buying

Finally we have produced our 2man lightweight tent with a emphasis on liveable space rather than gram busting dedication to save weight. Just one problem, well to be honest several.
A couple of years ago we promised ourselves that if a product wasn't right then we wouldn't sell it. If we couldn't hand on heart compare it against our peers then the project would get scrapped. Somehow and we have been in this game for sometime this got through. A final raft of modifications to the specification haven't happen and we now have tent that is not fit for sale in the way we want it to be.
We were expecting this item to retail around £150

£ 60.00

Features

We would clasify this tent as a 1-2 person.
Less suitable for heights over 180cm, as when tent flattens out at the the ends it touches your head and feet.
1-2 season – guy line positioning and the distance between fly and inner mean that the inner can stick to the outer, especially in anything other that light winds.
Lightwieght features compromise durability.
The pegs are tiny – but this is the industry norm.
The inner is baggy and not taut.

Specification

Although we are trying to be realistic and be sure that everyone that buys this tent know what they are getting, we feel for £60 it still presents OK value. It will work best as a tent tarp, if pegged out well.
It's not badly made it's just that the design is not quite right, I guess you could see it as a Beta release. But unfortunately we can't just give them away.

Alpkit make decent cheap kit, I have a sleeping bag, down jacket and pack from them over the years.
The only issue I have ever had with their kit was some socks I bought shrunk (my wife uses them now)
