Opinions on Hiking X-Socks?

Hi, have been using now my running socks for hiking and must say I would not come back.

I use the X-Socks sky runners, which is in my opinion the best model.

Advantages: lightweight (50 grams a pair), really breathable, comfortable.

Saw yesterday on Matt Hazley's site, UK's long distance hiker, has used them in his attempt to complete the AT in 40 days. Says everything…

I once got a free pair from the dutch import company of X-socks. Wore them one day in the store and had a two month rash on my ankle, but thats just me apparently there's someting in them that i'm allergic to.

The sales rep was pretty surprised when i told him. I gave them to a friend, he's quite happy with them.

I just ordered a pair of the X-Socks Hiking Performance Crew. They make quite a lot of claims on their website, and from what I'm seeing around, they aren't lying. If these prove to be "bulky", I might just switch to those skyrunners. Thanks for the info!

Wow, they sure have a lot of different pairs to choose from. This is going to take some serious thought. Hey, I have bought shoes for less than some of these!

I received a pair of Hiking X-Socks yesterday. Tried them on and found them to be very comfortable and they breathed incredibly well. My feet were moist from wearing cotton (!) socks all day at work. Within a minute my feet were noticeably cooler and the moisture could be felt on the outside of the sock. My only issue is a matter of personal preference, I don't wear hiking boots like most around here so I don't need a tall sock. I'm going to swap these out for the low cut sky runner model as was mentioned above, not only for lighter weight, but for comfort and aesthetic.
