I just got the Shangri la 1 to replace a tarp what wasent giving me enough weather protection. At the super sale price it was a steal based on what I've seen so far.
I was concerned purchasing it based on the size's some people were listing off. Many said that people over 6ft tall would not fit between the trekking poles. This is false! I am 6'4" and not only do I fit between the poles (standing totally upright) but I have almost a foot of additional space. Compared to my seedhouse SL1 the Shangri la is a longer taller tent. It also weighs less even with nest then the seedhouse. The tarp weighs 16oz and the nest weighs a hefty 19.5oz.

Being that the nest now comes with the tent I decided to use it for now. You are supposed to place the trekking poles IN the nest, but that means you must setup the nest first. Instead I placed the poles on the outside and just hook the nest in after the tarp is up.

This works alright but the whole nest tends to sag.

Another point to mention is when I did move the pole inside the nest, it tends to slip the nest socket out of the tarp socket. I'm not sure if I was doing ti right but there isn't much adjustment so I couldn't angle the pole differently.
I pitched this last night on a very windy ridge to see how well it shed the wind. It held up without a problem the entire night!
