I've had a pair of these for a little over a year.

Columbia Aztecs

They feel great on my feet. I originally got them on sale at my local Sports Authority. I'd dearly love to get another new pair to hike in but a pair of mens, size 11.5 US is harder to find than hen's teeth!

I've scoured the web and found plenty of stores that handle them but my 11.5 size continues to elude me. If anyone has any leads please post them hear.

Thanks In Adavance

OK my search for these same shoes was fruitless as I believe that they are now discontinued.

I replaced them with these in a size 12 even though the 11.5's were available.

Columbia Switchback 2 Low Trail Runners

I wanted just that little bit of extra length to avoid stubbing my toes on downhills.

They are light on my feet and well cushioned. I had to settle for a lack of the "pull on loop" at the rear of the shoe that I do like as an option.

The tread pattern of the sole has no raised "lugs" directly under the ball of my foot.

Switchback 2 tread pattern

I believe this to be an advantage for me because I tend to blister in that area of my foot on training walks using other shoes such as Merrell Moabs and Champion C9 Motivates. The lack of a lug in that portion of the sole should help in distributing the pressure over a wider area and reduce the tendency to blister the ball of my foot.

I had this type of experience with no blisters using my old Aztecs.

The Switchbacks have a gusseted tongue and two places to thread the laces through "webbing" on the tongue to keep it in position.

I'm sidelined right now but I am looking forward to putting some miles on these shoes as soon as I get over recuperating from a recent surgery. ;-(
