Sleeping bag sizing – length

I can't speak for all bags but for WM, I would highly recommend the 6'-6" model. You will fit in the 6' model but will have no room too spare. At 6' tall (& 20 less lbs than you), I made the mistake of ordering a WM 6' model and ended up sending it back and trading for the 6'-6" model. It was far more comfortable for my tastes.

One thing you may notice, if you can think about such things when you're relaxed and about to fall asleep, is that your feet and ankles relax into a semi-pointed-toe position. (I never realized this until I developed plantar fasciitis this spring and had to wear a splint at night to keep my foot from going into this position.) That means that if you're 6'0" even, your toes need at least another inch or two to be comfortable.

In addition, in freezing weather you may need to put a few items in the sleeping bag to keep them from freezing–water filter, camera battery, maybe a fuel canister. It's nice to have a little extra room down there at the foot.

I am 6'1" and 170 lbs and I love my WM Alpenlite 6'6". Well worth the small weight penalty for the added roominess. It's a dream
