Alright y'all, I need some advice. I am a three season hiker and typically the coldest nights I see are in the 30's. I usually am under a Trailstar. I've been using a Montbell UL #3 and #5 long, depending on the trip, use a 66" NeoAir, and usually open them up and drape them like a quilt 90% of the time and am happy. But when it gets real cold I don't have enough drape on the bags as a quilt so I zip up but because I am 6', about 245 lbs, have very broad shoulders and a frequent roller when I sleep, I feel claustrophic and stretch out the bag and therefore minimize the warmth properties of the down, resulting in cold shoulders.

So I am thinking it is time to just go to a quilt completely to get more of a drape and better coverage when it gets cold and to save me the agony of a tangled mess of a bag when I try to rotate in my sleep. And I don't need a hood since it is rarely under my head due to rotating around in my sleep. So what should I get? I figure with the sale of the two Montbell UL bags I can afford one very sweet bag and want to make it a good one. I don't want to go above 24 oz if possible. Suggestions?

I have tried a number of the more popular quilts and can't say enough good things about Katabatic. I have 3 and would recommend the Palisade wide and long. You could even add a couple oz of overfill and still come in under 24 oz.

Hoping to hear some input from folks that have used the Enlightened bags. Anyone?

I love my Rev X bag. I think it would work great for you Steven. Talk to Tim personally if you have any questions or concerns.
