Hi
I am putting together the final materials for a MYOG pack and was looking at the different types of mesh available. OWF is still out of the stretch mini mesh. I was wondering if anyone here had used the stretch mesh offered by DIY gear supply for outside pockets and how it has held up, what you do or do not like about it. To clarify the mesh will be part of a removable back pocket for use of gear storage on potentially wet trips. Recommendations on mesh from other suppliers is also welcome. Thanks

I haven't made my pack yet…but I have some of the 2nds the that material and it seems pretty strong.

…thought I would throw that in since you hadn't gotten an answer yet.

After searching a little harder I found that some MYOGer's have used the lycra stretch mesh from Quest. It is a 4 way stretch mesh around 5oz sq yd. The stretch mini mesh at DIY is one way stretch at an unlisted wt. Can anyone who has handled these give an opinion? Hard for me to tell if they are what I am after by the picture/description on the websites.

My thoughts:
Based purely on a small sample sent from quest of the lycra mesh-
very nice hand
very nice stretch
very tight weave, when not stretched it would probably breath much less than other options
the 'stretch mesh' from diygearsupply reminds me of swimming trunk liner, or maybe you call it athletic mesh? When i recieved it in the mail it was not what i was hoping, but Ive come around.
very cheap
plenty breathable for a big back pocket
less durable (guessing)
So far I am viewing this as a somewhat disposable option, just knowing how easy and cheap it will be to replace when it gets a huge hole riped in it.
If i was doing more than a week or so trip i would select something stronger. I like the poly mesh from quest- very open, easy, strong, heavier.
this is what i have found from building my first few packs.

Thank you everyone, that is the information I was hoping to get.
