New Bushbuddy Owners?

I have had mine for a few months and have used it in the backyard twice and on a recent snow camping trip. It is an interesting idea and has its place. It is easy to light even without a cotton/vaseline starter. It needs constant feeding–wood needs to be added every 3-5 minutes. However once you have coals it is easy to relight by adding wood and blowing. I skied to Dewy Point to watch the moonlight on El Capitan (the wall of early morning light was just as pretty with moonlight) and when I came back 40 minutes later I could easily start it again. If you don't keep the fire burning you will get major cresote buildup on your pot so make sure you have a separate bag (preferably with plastic liner) for your pot. I bolied 6 liters of water from snow (melting snow to boil) in about two hours but it probably would have gone much faster had I been sitting there and feeding it more reliably.

With snow you need to put it on something and I used some chunks of wood. Probably 5-6 small rounds of wood would have been easier and more stable. See picture.
