I'll be in the Wind Rivers next week. I'm debating whether to use my Arc AT or a WM Highlight. I would combine the Arc with the Montbell Alpine Light jacket and a hat.
I've had this system down to mid-to-low 40s in the Adirondacks and was perfectly warm.
I expect the weather will drop into the mid-to-high 30s at night in Winds, with a smaller possibility of hitting freezing overnight. The Arc is a cool piece of kit, and it would be fun to try it out in these conditions. But I don't want to shiver all night either.
For those of you familar with the Winds and/or the Arc AT/Edge line–what do you think?
I'll be sleeping under a MLD Speedmid with two other fullsize people, which might create a slightly warmer microclimate under the tarp. Ground insulation will be 3/4 in closed cell foam (Gossamer Gear).
