I "think" that I bought some of these from the BPL store.. They were like 1 gal "Glad" freezer bags.. only nice and thick.
Anyone know where I can get some more of these ?
Thanks !

You can get resealable poly bags in all kinds of sizes and thicknesses, the problem is quantity. You'll have to look around for someone who sells them in smaller quantities unless you want hundreds of them, in which case there are many wholesalers. This should be an easy web search.
aLOKSAK bags are quite thick. Available lots of places.
For reference, here are some measurements:
Aloksak about 6 mil thick (single layer):

OPsak about 4 mil thick (single layer):

Glad quart freezer bag about 3 mil thick (single layer):

Glad storage bag with slider about 2 mil thick (single layer):

Glad snack bag about 1 mil thick (single layer):

Thaks guys !
I'll see if I can't chase these down
Great post Lance.
Great post but beware the failure point on the Aloksaks. Notorious that weak seal.A ziplock is far better. All their testimonials are ancient dreck.I think about beefing it up with 3M packing tape which is waterproof and has a urea formaldehyde based adhesive. Failure points. The weakest link and sloppy handling-food smells outside are potential typical fails.Rodents are savvy and will chew through 100 year old clear doug fir. Quite the foes.
Nice community contribution post with the photos!
I don't know about the Aloksaks, but if they seal the same way as Opsak, then I agree with John. I hate the way it closes so much that I have never brought my Opsaks out on the trail. I bought a few 3 years ago and refuse to deal with the hassle and insecurity of the closure.
