Someone is selling a Skaha Plus in gear swap right now for a very, very good price. Might want to check that out depending on what size you're looking for.

That's good to know. Still, I am curious to know, how the off-the-rack sizes fit, so I can have a frame of reference for requesting modifications. I know that I will probably have to extend the sleeve lengths a bit.

I seem to do quite well with Arcteryx's "Athletic Fit." Unfortunately, Arcteryx doesn't make down sweaters. And even if they did, they would probably come out slightly heavier/bulkier than cottage industry wear, since they are bound to include "mainstream frills," such as pockets, etc.

I have a size medium Skaha (not Plus) and the fit is perfect..The jacket allows for layering with a couple base layers if temperatures require. The jacket has some bulk due to the fill but the fit is great overall.

I dont have the sweater but other stuff from Nunatak. As has been said here before you should talk to Tom Halpin the owner and get the details straight. Obviously one of the downsides to buying cottage is that you cant walk into a store and touch it….but you get other stuff.

As an aside i can say that Tom was really nice (although sometimes took a while to answer as he was out hiking or working the farm) and god knows i took forever with measurements and discussion about spec and he was very tolerant.

Tom at Nunatak will sew your jacket exactly how you want it with the greatest skill.

I comfortably wear my Skaha Plus down to about 10 degrees on its own, and often as part of my sleep system (I use quilts even in harsh environs).

I have a vest and a sweater, both XL, and both fit perfectly – in the case of the sweater, thanks to two inches' extra length that I ordered after talking with Tom.
