Yes, the marketed weight is without the lid. I wouldn't buy one.

I would consider buying one if I cooked or melted snow. Maybe I'll get one for next winter. Last time I was out in the snow I was kicking myself for not having a pot when I felt the need to melt snow over a wood fire. Fortunately I was able to use radiant heat to melt snow within a plastic bottle and a couple freezer bags, but it took several hours. I just hate the bulk that a pot adds. This device takes away some of that pain.

Some people here are upset with how the owner is marketing this product. With the snafus that cottage businesses have made here, I think this startup is worthy of a mulligan. It's a rare season when a cottage business isn't being roasted. If we boycotted all cottage businesses for upsetting some members here, we'd only be buying Chinese made gear.

Let me think of the companies that have looked bad here:
Tigoat / Rota Lucura
Lightheart Gear
Big Sky International
Easton
Thru hiker
Seek Outside
Jetboil
Warmlite
Kooka Bay

I bet all our other small companies belong on that list too, but I've only been here for a couple of years.
