I'm now anxiously awaiting delivery from Amazon on my Olympus TG 1-iHS digital camera.
To say it's purely a "point-and-shoot" camera is not quite correct since it has a lot of options to choose from before "pointing".
It's not a cheapie at $400. plus a $35. kit of extras but if you GOOGLE it you'll see why it's so good. Soon I'll get a screw-on lens adaptor and a telephoto lens if I want more than the built in 4X zoom. A fisheye lens is also available. I'm heading to Europe this year and I want a good camera, better than my Panasonic Lumix. I think this is it. It's a litle heavier than I'd like but easy to overlook a few ounces for great photos.
FINALLY, after waiting years for a backpacking camerea I could justify carrying I have found what is, by all reviews, a great waterproof (to 40 ft.) and drop resistant (from 6 ft.) ruggedized camera. I wouldn't doubt if some specialized military units will begin using it since they do often buy civilian gear when no equivalent military gear is available.
Anyone else getting one?
