Any suggestions on the best way to repair a ~1 in long tear on the sleeve of a micro puff? I was thinking of sewing the tear w/ needle and thread and then sealing the repair with silnet.

I'd probably try the Kenyon ripstop tape, or something similar. That thin fabric's not going to be easy to stitch!
Is the repair in a spot that gets a lot of abrasion that might snag a patch?
Nice picture!!! Did you have a personal photographer with you, or did you use the timer on the camera?
I have a Micro Puff jacket and have snagged it too. It seems to have caught a single thread and pulled it. For a tear I would would try a seam sealer. Just enough to weld the edges.
Good luck.
Rick,
Thanks for the suggestion, the tear is on the left hand sleeve, just above the wrist, so it will recieve a fair amount of abrasion.
Victor,
Thanks for the comment on the picture and your suggestion. No I didn't set the timer on the camera, I just asked some old guy to take the picture after he caught his breath, Ha Ha!
Hey Theodore,
How old was that old guy. What do consider old, 30?
Heck at least he made it to the top of half Dome and still had enough composure to compose a great picture of you.
BTW why are you standing so far back from the edge? This is the way you see the valley floor…
