Go Lite shoes website is up and running

You had some good photos on your blog, Bill. I think people will be interested in hearing some opinions of these shoes as they weight upwards of half a pound less than many popular trail shoes.

So where do you see the shoes on the golite shoes website? All I can see is the three tiny little boxes that go with the three different peaks.

I have two different The North Face trail runners.
1. Ultra 102's – size 11 – weighs 14.03 ounces each shoe.
2. Ultra 103 XCR's – size 11 – weighs 17.77 ounces each shoe.

The GoLite Trail Fly – size 11 -11.5 – weighs 15.48 ounces each shoe. Not lighter than my TNF Ultra 102's.

I think the Trail Fly is making my legs hurt from my knees up – on the inside of my legs – after a miles or so when I am walking in them. Not for sure but something is.

I am going back to my TNF 102's today and see what happens.

curious to hear how these shoes hold up to regular use and if any running on asphalt will really wear them down quickly.

From a usability point of view, the new Golite website is atrocious. Especially the footwear microsite. Why should we try to guess where to find information on things we want to buy. I am going to buy their site designers a copy of Steve Krug's book – 'Don't make me think'.
What a shame, at least you could find information on their old site. This site will lose them sales.

I completely agree Chris. I also dont understand why we need to search the world wide web for more pictures. I would think companys wold want you to see their entire product. Not just a one sided view. Leaves me to think that some manufacturers are hiding something.

I am currently searching for all new gear and have found both ULA and SMD very helpfull sites, as well TT and a few others. Golite has really lost out with alot of their shoe decisions(no half sizes, no marketing, making it impossible for people to find any info or buy for that matter). They are suppost to be available to the consumer now???

I agree!! The GoLite site gets my vote for the least user friendly website I have ever been to, EVER!! I couldn''t find anything in the footware section. Wake up guys, you are losing my business. I come to your site to look at your shoes, not to play hide and seek.

One of my pet peeves with shoe weights is that some sites list pair weights and others are per shoe.

Cascade Designs/Thermarest has a terrible web site too. You can really tell which ones were designed to impress in the boardroom and which ones were designed with the end users (customers) in mind. Too many decisions are left in the hands of misanthropic programmers who are clueless to marketing and the ergonomics of web site navigation– tiny mouse tagets, small fonts, etc, etc.

REI has flakey info and you have to stand on your head to get a good simple display of the items available. I could go on forever.
