You are absolutely right, David. As a fast and light community we owe so much gratitude to the fertile minds and visionaries in the cottage industry. Ron from Mountain Laurel, Chris from ULA, and Graham from Cilo gear all saw the advantages of the Air Beam instantly, and each have taken a different approach on the Air Beam's incorporation into their pack carry system. We also have to take into account that they produce their products domestically, and can move very quickly to augment their production process to integrate new ideas.

Anyone who has met Jeff or Dan from Granite Gear will also attest that they are unabashed to explore new technologies and solutions, and share the innovative MYOG spirit that has made the fast and light community what it is. I've watched Jeff tinker with the burly sewing machines in his trailer 2 days before the start of App trail days in Damascus just to be there to work hand in hand with through hikers just to fix other brands' packs. Granite Gear has maintained its grassroots soul even after rampant success worldwide. They are all about having fun and enjoying life in the backcountry, and have been awesome to work with.

At this point there are several designs of the Air Beam Pack Frame, and all have been dialed to provide a great pack frame while optimizing the specific goals of the pack manufacturers. This concept can yield fantastic results in many configurations, all of them focused on providing fantastic comfort, load stability, and load transfer. We at Klymit feel privileged to be working with some of the most fertile pack minds on the planet. We have several development projects ongoing, so stay tuned!

Very interesting. I have been having some issues with my Crown in frameless mode due to the cutouts on the Vapor Current suspension. But this might make up for those problems.
