I'm going to have a 3 day weekend in Denver in August, and I'm looking to sneak in a one or two night trip. I've never been to Colorado before, so I'm not sure where to start looking for options within easy driving distance. Something in the 15 mile-per-day range is probably right, toned down a bit if off trail. I also have no idea whether the fires mean it's foolish to try and plan this far in advance.
