    I guess this goes here?

Where should I start looking for specifically northern Sierra guide book/map sets? Whole new exciting wilderness to learn about!!!

USFS maps. That was that was readily available when I starting hiking the Sierras. Go hike some trails and you will figure out the best places. :-)

YOu should certainly get a copy of Sierra North—that's got something like 100 trips in the area. As for maps, each wilderness area has it's own Tom Harrison Map, or you can print your own for your specific trip off Acmemapper.com

Our website has a lot of trip logs from the area as well at backpackthesierra.com
