I guess this goes here?
Where should I start looking for specifically northern Sierra guide book/map sets? Whole new exciting wilderness to learn about!!!
Jun 25, 2012 at 6:00 pm #1890068USFS maps. That was that was readily available when I starting hiking the Sierras. Go hike some trails and you will figure out the best places. :-)
Jun 25, 2012 at 7:43 pm #1890099YOu should certainly get a copy of Sierra North—that's got something like 100 trips in the area. As for maps, each wilderness area has it's own Tom Harrison Map, or you can print your own for your specific trip off Acmemapper.com
Our website has a lot of trip logs from the area as well at backpackthesierra.com
