Saw this on TheClymb awhile back and decided to snag it. Never been a fan of Bear Grylls and only saw his show a handful of times but it was cheap and I had a lot of referral credits over there that were about to expire so it seemed worth checking out. (With all my credits, it only cost me the price of shipping.)
Seems to be just like the Pertex/pile stuff I'm always hearing about – thin nylon shell with furry Polartec Thermal Pro-style fleece on the inside. Unless I misunderstand what Pertex/pile is all about…
Build quality on the Bear Grylls Tracker Top is OK — it doesn't seem likely to fall apart any time soon but definitely not up there with Patagonia, Arc'teryx, etc.
Looking forward to giving it a real test once cold weather rolls around. With 90ºF+ weather right now, that won't be for awhile.
