Interested in owning one but whats the best size? 9×9 big enough for 2 or sometimes 3 hikers or should I go with 10×10? Is 10×10 more difficult to find a site compared to 9×9?

With tents you need to think in 3d to have some idea of usable space.
In this case two 9×9 pyramids of different height will give you the difference in usable space.
Not all that difficult to determine but in my oppinion best done in a full size simulation than on paper.
Trace your 9×9 9 (whatever…) floor print . Put a stick in the middle. connect a piece of string between the given apex and each corner , place you mat inside that area and see how it works out for you…
Like this :
size
(9'x9' , 6' high)
BTW remember that tent panels sag inwards . Best if you place your sleeping bags on top of the mat also…(again for fit)

9×9 is fine for 3 hikers. More enjoyable if you attach the top to an overhanging branch or crossline. But I have slept mant nights in a 9×9 with 3 people no problem.

I can't find the thread, but I remember reading someone with a 9×9 posting that it was comfy for 2 and could fit 3 O.K. I have a 10×10 Oware Mid – it fits 3 comfortably and 4 isn't too bad either. If you have the time and means, mapping out the floor plan and slope with a string is a great idea. You also might call the manufacturer and ask. They know their products.

Thanks for your input! I def will map out the dimensions….. awesome idea adding a pole and string to the model!

Any thoughts about pitching a 9×9 v 10×10 in terms of finding a site large enough?

Yeah, 9×9 or 10×10 is harder to find flat area to pitch tent

Except, with floorless tent, it only has to be flat where you're sleeping, there can be rocks and tree roots inside the floor "footprint"

I don't have many nights in my pyramid yet but I'm very happy with it so far.

I have the 9×9 and in a pinch could put my 2 kids, my wife & I in there. Raising it off the ground gives you more space inside.

I also worried about the footprint size compared to campsite size available, especially once I set it up in my yard – 9×9 is larger than I've dealt with. In the cases where the campsite was smaller, say 4×8, part of the pyramid just sits over the unusable part.
