looking for good bug bivy for less

…I keep looking for something very similar to MLD's or the bug bivy that a guy got custom made from OokWorks (http://www.secretmountain.co.uk/out-and-about/custom-trailstar-inner-bug-net-video-and-photos/), but something that's not going to run me >100 dollars. It seems to me that a bug bivy shouldn't be that expensive, although I'm sure they're difficult to make by hand and are surely worth that much from MLD or OokWorks since they're making them by hand. Still, at the moment I'm not in the market for something so expensive, but all the cheaper things I find just don't seem to fit the bill. Mainly, I'm looking for something that doesn't use any poles or hoops but instead ties into the loops in my trailstar that were made for such a purpose. And not only at the head, but away from the head. Also, I would prefer a silnylon floor, but maybe that's what's making the MLD and OokWorks bivys so expensive. Anybody have any ideas? And I'm not too handy with sewing, so making my own isn't exactly a great option, either. I saw Borah makes one for only 65 or 70, depending on the zipper option (http://ulgear.blogspot.com/p/bug-bivy.html). I can't tell if the tie-up loop is located only near the face or also near the feet/knees. if not, i figure it would be an easy custom job that wouldn't cost much, but i'd like to know if it's standard…i guess i could also just tie a ghostie.. but i guess i could do that with anything, and it's not ideal. anybody know any other options that are cheaper? right now Borah's stuff is looking good but i'd still like to find something similar for less expensive. anything i can find made by the big companies like sea to summit or rei are either not shaped like i want them or they use poles or something that pretty much negates the whole purpose i want a tarp and bug bivy in the first place. Like i said, MLD's is pretty much perfect (and i know it would work, since i'd be using it with a Trailstar), but I just can't shell out 125 for some mosquito netting right now.

Bear paw has a few different variations in the 80-100 dollar range.

You might look for used options in the gear swap to lower cost

Any desing that uses a pole could be made to use ties by glueing or sewing tabs onto it.

Not the lightest but cheaper and you could easily do some home made modifications to add loops to attach to the trailstar.

Not sure about the bottom material but this is even cheaper:

You are asking for a design that is tailor made for a Trailstar, but not made by MLD so you probably won't find something perfect (especially cheaper). I'd say get handy with a needle and thread (doesn't have to be pretty, just work), some tape or glue, and modify an existing cheap solution to be perfect for you =P

you're right about that i guess…beggars can't be choosers, eh. I had seen the Outdoor Research bivy and the Sea to Summit pyramid and at first wasn't going to go for either…but i hadn't seen the discounted OR bivy from the site you linked to, so thanks for that. the pyramid style is definitely not what i'm looking for though. but i'm thinking about that OR bivy and then just taking a needle and thread and sewing some small loops onto it to be able to tie it into my trail star and ditching the pole. at that price it's hard to say no to but i'm still wondering if i'd rather get Borah's bug bivy, even though it's more expensive. i might sit on it for a day or so and think
