My friends and I just about always go off track hiking and I have a long term thing I haven't been able to solve. I would like to find out from the more experienced how do you wash your hands UL style. I mean because we are scrambling climbing etc etc our hands get really dirty by the end of the day and conserving water for just the 'have to' usage leaves very little for washing grubby hands before meal times.
I always used to draw a little water into my mouth and dribble it over my hands as I washed with a bit of camping multi wash gel but was thinking of ways to avoid the water consumption for this altogether.
My ideas were; 1.wet wipes-taking this anyway for personal hygene, 2.antibacterial hand wash in tiny container (you know the alcohol based stuff) but I can't see this working well due to very little liquid to actually get the grime off and then you'd have to wipe your wet grubby hands into something.
Can I find out how you got around this issue?
Many thanks.
Mik.
