I want to be able to add a camera mount to a trekking pole. Does anyone know the anatomy of a black diamond trekking pole handle or handles in general? Are they glued on? Hollow? Screwed on? The only trekking pole I see where it's easy to add a camera mount is the LT4.

    (Idea from Don Meredith)

Grab yourself an elastic and connect it to the camera via where a cord attaches. Then just stab your pole into the ground and connect the camera to the handle by stretching the elastic around the handle and over the far side of the camera.

If this doesn't make sense, check out Don's video here:

This method works great and it's lighter, simple and quicker than screwing the camera on. I actually use some thin shockcord instead of an elastic band so it's a bit more robust, but an elastic is fine.

Hah. Simple. Love it. I might resort to something like that.

Cool idea of using a rubber band. I'll have to try that sometime.

I used this for my entire A.T hike and loved it. Supports yet another good little cottage industry. Stick Pic – google it. They make them for most every model of trekking pole.

Well I've been using one of these for the last few years….
