I was planning a trip into the Winds the third week of July. However with the mild winter we had this year I'm thinking of bumping it up to the first week of July. We are going in from Big Sandy and doing a loop taking in Texas Pass/Grave Lake/Haily Pass and some possible off route stuff thrown in. Anyone know what the conditions are like? From what I can gather the Winds have had anywhere from 55-70% of normal snow pack this year. I'm guessing the first week of July will be good to go this year.

Earlier this winter looks like the Winds snow pack was about 70% of average. Also from what I have gathered the snow pack dropped pretty fast this spring and for May it had dropped to around 55-60% of normal. Anyone have any additional or more accurate info?
