After waiting 8 weeks I received my solomid! I set it up several times this last weekend for practice and to seam seal it…very easy to set up. However I had a hard time getting the tips of the poles right in the tip of the apex (though still on the reinforced patch) due to the snow baskets. Should I be a) taking the baskets off, b) not worrying about it cause it doesn't matter, or c) turning my trekking poles upside down so the handles are at the apex and the tips are on the ground?
I also thought that the trekking pole tips were pressed fairly hard against the apex…obviously Ron knows what he's doing but should I be worried about it puncturing the fabric?
Any thoughts??
