Greetings. I'm looking for a piece of gear that I haven't seen before. Basically a mesh bag, made out of tent mesh, with a zipper. This would be the size of a backpack, and could be used to store a backpack laying in a tent vestibule, keeping out bugs or (lazy) rodents. Has anyone seen one these for sale anywhere? Thank you for any tips.

Just a few off the top of my head…
Sea to Summit makes one that is all bug netting IIRC.
Then there is the “Simblissity Inner Peace” which is sort of a 80% length bug bag cover. (I have been using one for a short while now, works rather well, but almost impossible to find anymore)
The “GossamerGear Bug Canopy” is about as extreme as you can go. I owned one for a very brief time. It was too little, even for my XUL likings.
There is of course the older-than-dirt “A16 Bug Bivy” which has been around for decades it seems.
Outdoor Research has (had??) a bug bivy but I cannot remember if it has a nylon floor or not, pretty sure it does/did though.
The MLD Bug Bivy has a solid floor, so could not consider it either.
Same with the TitaniumGoat Bug Bivy, solid floor, so no go with it either.
Umm, yeah that is all I can recall off the top of my brain at this time.
edited: ah, I just remembered that I got an email from the owner of Borah Gear a while back telling me about one that they had.
edit#2: error, just checked and it seems they also have use silnylon floor. my bad, sorry.

John, I don't think the OP is asking for a bug net. He just wants to keep critters out of his pack when left outside over night.
To the OP, I would just make a simple bag out of mesh using a drawstring closure. You can find noseeum netting (tent mesh) at many sites such as:
thru-hiker.com
owfinc.com
rockywoods.com
questoutfitters.com
Make a large stuff sack (this site and thru-hiker have tutorials) using the material and you'll be good to go. This route will probably be the cheapest if you already own a sewing machine.
If you still want to buy a bag than Sea-to-Summit has a line of mesh stuff sacks that may be large enough for your pack. But it looks like the biggest is only 30L which may be too small for you if your pack doesn't roll up much.

They do have a silnylon duffel for under 3oz that holds 40L. Still light but not mesh like you asked.
D’Oh!!
I am an idiot. (yes, willing to admit that lolol).
I totally missed the “be the size of a backpack” part.
Yeah, the StS is a good one. If you want to take it up a notch there is always the Outsak UL.
Sorry to the OP for what is now a totally off-topic post above. But hey, a good resource for a sleeping bug bag huh lolol (slaps head)
Thanks for all the suggestions! Even the off-topic ones were useful to determine what's out there.
