I'm in need of advice about what knots to use to attach a guyline to a Duomid midpanel guyout (see picture below) at one end and to a stake at the other end.

One of the knots will need to slide so that I can adjust tension.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Since that tie out panel is already elastic, I'd recommend a sheet bend knot on panel tie out end, and tension hitch (sliding) on stake end. Beauty of sheet bend it's very simple to remove.

Thanks for the help. I decided to go with the tautline hitch for tension and the sheet bend to attach to the guyout. I was a bit skeptical that the sheet bend would hold, but it seems to be working quite well.

David,

Great news about the knots working out well. If you're looking to do away with the sheet bend knot, another knot to use would be the bowline hitch. Bowline hitch would be a more permanent knot that would remain stationary, I just like the sheetbend so I can quickly remove it and use those same lines for other camp tasks that may require a short hanked rope. This is a great link to boy scout knots that is worth keeping handy thanks to another BPL member.
