I just had Chris Zimmer build me a custom pack. I intend to use it for alpine climbing so I needed a simple pack that was about 25L. I wanted a waterproof fabric (I think it's VX07), a rolltop closure, and a sleeve for a Osprey Hydraform reservoir or custom-cut Klymit air pad for a virtual frame. I also needed a rope strap for carrying a rope and didn't need a hipbelt. Finally, I had him design it with attachment points for my HMG Porter pack. It has attachment points that mate up with the daisy chains on the Porter so it can be a piggyback pocket on the approach to a climb and then become my leader/climbing pack on the climb. I think he nailed it. I was VERY pleased with the communication, turn around and price. I don't have it in my hands yet but I expect it soon and am excited to use it.
