I’m going to be using my alcohol stove at 10-11k feet in Colorado next month, which I’ve never done before.

Normally I’m on the AT at 4-6k feet. How will that effect the performance of the alcohol stove? Is it much different?

I'll be using denatured alcohol in a Trail Designs stove with a Heineken Can.

I've never noticed any difference over altitude. I use Trangia and Whitebox burners. SLX is usually my fuel.

You may find that you use a bit more fuel. Both air and water temperatures may be lower than you are used to. Be sure you have a good windscreen.

I've been using that same setup for 3 seasons, at elevation, and it works great.

The only thing to remember is that at elevation boiling occurs at about 190° so although the water might "boil" quicker, some food may require a longer soak.

I use my half-can cozy as a lid while I boil and while I soak.
My alcohol is 95% ethyl. I use less than 0.75 ounces of fuel per 2 cup boil.
