I know that bear canisters are required in Denali and that the park service will provide a canister free of charge with a backcountry permit. Does anyone know what size(s) and brand the canisters they issue are? Are BearVaults acceptable?
I'm worried that the issued bear canisters wouldn't even begin to fit in my MLD Zip, so I'm hoping there are alternative options.
Denali issues Garcias, which are too big for me. So I contacted Denali about bringing my Bear Vault Solo this summer. Here is thehappy response:
